MICHAEL VAN NELSON
Michael Van Nelson was born June 30, 1897 in the Durhamville Community of
Lauderdale County Tennessee. He accepted Christ at an early age.
He was named teacher of the young men's Abimelech Class at Holly Grove Church where he touched the hearts of men 18 years and older. Brother M. V. Nelson studied to show himself approved to teach the Bible and he was able to serve the church body as thereviewer of the Sunday School lessons. His exposition and teaching weresimple and easy enough for beginners to understand and spiritually deep enough for members of all the Sunday School classes to realize the importance of studying God's word. This task was performed faithfully with punctuality and a service record was unbroken as long as his health permitted. He married Rosie Lee Anderson on June 17, 1917. To this union one child Inez was born. Mrs. Rosie Lee preceded him in death on December 25, 1983. Michael Van Nelson departed this life in 1/1991.
